Click Patient's Phone Number in EMR to Call!

ClinicYou has a time saving feature - you can simply click the phone number displayed in large format to place a call to that number. It works by calling your personal mobile first, and when you answer, connecting to the other number. You don't have to worry about exposing your mobile number - the caller ID will be a ClinicYou number.

Pre-requisites

You need a paid ClinicYou subscription

You should have a number entered in your 'Mobile' field of your personal profile page (Profile Picture > My Account > Personal). This does not have to be mobile number.

Your country's dialling prefix should be entered in the specified field on the Clinic's settings (Profile Picture > My Account > My Clinic) - see screenshot below.

ClinicYou strips the leading zero and + from numbers and adds the country code you set here, before placing the call.

If you have captured all phone numbers (patients and your own) including country code, like 440751522389, you can leave the global country code field empty.

How to start a call

In EMR, click a telephone number of the patient on the left panel. A popup with the number in large format is displayed. Click the number and a call starts. First, your personal phone (entered in the mobile field in your profile) rings. Once you answer, another call is placed to the number you clicked.

How much does it cost to make a call this way?

Since we pay for both legs of the call, we have to reverse charge you. Typically it is just a pence a minute. Considering the time saved, this is a negligible expense.
