Emailing Patients
Sending Quick Emails Messages to Patients
${color}[#ff9705](You can now email patients from within their medical records, and capture the email text and replies in the EMR!
)
Historically, clicking the patient's email address in the medical records would open your email client for ease of use. We noticed many of you copy the email text and record it in the medical records for future reference. And replies are like-wise pasted into notes for reference. This is good, but we wanted to save you time and reduce errors. Now you can send an email to patient, with an attachment, and record that in medical records in one go - and any reply received with attachments will also be recorded in the notes.
To send an email from medical records, click the Email Icon on the actions strip on the EMR page (this will be visible when the patient has an email address). The old functionality is still available in case you want to email something not relevant to medical records.
Things to remember:
- The 'reply-to' email address is a system generated unique email address. This will be mentioned in footer of the email along with the clinic's email address.
- You can only attach one file on the email and there is a limit of 7 Mb.
- We are aware of some email replies saving blank text in the medical records - while we unpick this, if you need the content, we can retrieve that from the system logs.
