AI Generated Clinical Notes - Your New Superpower!

What?

Go beyond dictating notes and relying on pre-prepared text snippets (canned text). You now have a copilot - a digital assistant, that can automatically document your clinic notes! It is so smart, it even remembers bits of information that you may have forgotten during the consultation. This saves enormous amounts of time and can free you up to to save 2-3 additional patients per session. Or, just enjoy the time freed-up and invest it in your own wellbeing.

To use it, you just need to have an active ClinicYou subscription. There is no up front cost, you pay for what you use and the charges are similar to dictation costs (as in our clinic letter transcription service).

How?

Within a patient's EMR page, click the + button to add a new note. If you have an active ClinicYou subscription, you will see the message announcing the new service. Just click the message to view the notes UI.





Follow the instructions on screen. Choose the kind of note template to use - typically for a new patient, the notes are more elaborate. For a follow up consultation, the widely used SOAP structure fits (Subjective, Objective, Assessment and Plan). System defaults to new patient template.




You can pause and restart consultation. Once completed, system gets to work and generates structured notes and appends the text into the standard notes text box. It takes several seconds, though typically around 30 seconds. Of course the length of time closely mirrors the length of consultation.

If you accidentally close the notes panel after activating notes generation, it does not matter - the text will still be saved to draft. If you don't see it, just refresh the page and re-open the notes panel.

What About Security?

Of course we take security very seriously. The voice files are deleted immediately after processing and all patient identifiable information is stripped/obfuscated during processing. The resulting text is kept in the secure medical records as your own typed entry would be. Further, your data are not used for training the system.

Are There Any Limitations?

If you are on a Mac and you are doing a video consultation, firing up the AI listener might cut the microphone access to the video call. This is a system limitation.
You can get around this by using 2 different browsers - one to place the video call and the other to take notes. Or after the call, speak out your thoughts and the ClinicYou will create the notes for you.
